Milk Sandwiches…

I have lived in the South my entire 25 x 2ish life and never heard of a milk sandwich. NOW I know.

See when there is snow in the forecast in the South, even if it isn’t in our state, we run to the Piggly Wiggly, Bi-Lo, the Wal-Mart OR nearest 7 -Eleven and clean them out of milk and bread. We sometimes splurge on SPAM or Vienna Sausages, if they ain’t been cleared out. Anything that can sustain us for the entire 10 minutes that the snow actually sticks and stays.

So what is up with the bread and the milk, you ask? The milk is for the snow cream that we plan to consume as soon as said snowfalls. It is a delicacy here in the South and comes only once in a few years, if god is whiling and the creek don’t rise.

The bread is the most important part. It is there to sop up the remaining, melted snow cream, so as not to lose any of that precious snow gravy that we have left. We don’t get it often, therefore we have to enjoy every precious little drop.

We do also like to play in it, and that will be part Deux of this post. But first, we do have to focus on the food part. We are all about that and ensuring y’all know why we crazy down here.

OH and we know y’all make fun of us, but hell, we don’t care. We Love life and just trying to get by and live it to the fullest.

Life is too short. In the words of a great artist, Tim McGraw, “Live like you are dying”…we get many chapters in life, but only one chance to appreciate it!
